Off Piste Skiing Course with guiding, technique tuition and safety training

Back by popular demand, our 'Access All Areas' ski courses will run again in 2023. These three day courses are focused on three main objectives:

1) Guiding: Benefit from local knowledge with our experienced instructors and find the best terrain and snow conditions on any given day.
2) Technique: work on off piste skiing technique on various slopes types and snow conditions
3) Mountain Safety training: Learn about off piste safety, avalanche awareness and how to use the equipment.

WHEN: Monday & Tuesday afternoons 12:15 - 16:15, Wednesday all day ( 9:30 - 16:00)
16-18th JAN  
30th JAN - 1st FEB
6th - 8th MARCH
Extra half day on Thursday possible, please ask when booking. 

WHO: This is for advanced skiers, competent on black runs with at least around 8-10 weeks experience and in good physical condition.

WHERE: Meeting point at our hut in Avoriaz, from where we can access the best off piste skiing in Les Portes du Soleil. The course will run on lift accessed off piste terrain, although a ski touring day can be included if desired by the attendees - please ask when booking.

350 For the Monday to Wednesday Course.

Morzine Avoriaz off pist skiing
Avoriaz and Les Portes du Soleil has a fantastic and vast backcountry and the off piste skiing is world class. Whilst off piste skiing is extremely fun, exciting and rewarding, there are many hazards which need to be taken into account. This course aims to educate attendees on mountain safety and off piste skiing techniques, so you can enjoy the backcountry safely and in control.

Some of the mountain safety themes included:
- Avalanche Awareness
- Forecasting and route planning
- Transceiver training and emergency procedures
- Terrain Analysis
