All our instructors speak English and will work with you to improve your skills using mdern teaching methods. All hold the highest international British or French qualification are registered with the French authorities and members of the Ecole de Ski International. We are also an affiliated member of BASI.

If you have a favourite instructor please request for privates, courses are pre allocated.

Andy Cavet ski.

Andy joins us for a fifth winter, he loves the area so much he has recently set up home further down the valley. Andy has spent many years teaching in the alps. He previously managed a large outdoor centre in Southern England.

Ian McKellar ski, snowboard & paraplegic.

Ian formed the original school in 1992 which is now run as a cooperative. He is our current director and has 29 year teaching experience in the Alps, 23 of them in the Portes du Soleil. His background is in Freestyle skiing and he represented Britain at world cup level. He was an examiner for the British Association of Snowsport Instructors for 8 years.

Luc Wouters ski.

This is Luc's fourth season with us and he brings valuable knowledge from his Physiotherapy background. His understanding of human movement is a great help to all the instructors. Luc lives locally and works full time as a Physiotherapist in the Summer and part time in the winter if you need some help! He speaks Dutch, French German and English.

Annie Donovan ski and telemark/touring.

Annie has been instructing for 20 seasons, 7 with the Avoriaz Alpine Ski School. She is a valuable member of our team. Annie holds an American / Canadian level 2 in Avalanche Awareness and is also a Level 1 / 2 avalanche instructor trainer for the International Institute of Avalanche Research and education.

Lauren Calvet snowboard & ski.

Lauren is our Snowboard Director. He will introduce you to jumps and flips in the park on board and skis. Fulent in French and English with many years teaching in Avoriaz.

Bryan Hogg ski & telemark/touring.

Our second Scot who has spent many years in the Portes du Soleil, the 3 Valleys and America. Bryan just loves to telemark. If you need to know anything about Scotland Bryan works there as a tour guide in the Summer months. www.scottishtouristguide.co.uk

Pierre ski & snowboard.

Pierre has taught in Avoriaz for over 24 years, he can take you those secret runs that you would never find. Fluent in French with good English clients love his French charm.

Keith Geddes ski & telemark/touring.

Our third Scot who has spent many years teaching around the world. Keith is a real adventurer and has many a story to tell if you dare ask him!

Dave Peek ski & snowboard.

Dave is a co founder of the original ski school. A current trainer and examiner for the British Association of Snowsport Intsructors.Dave splits his time managing a ski shop in the UK, working in Avoriaz and training British instructors.

Sylvain Pasque ski & snowboard.

An amazing young French instructor who was a big hit with the kids. He is our hot shot in the park and pipe both on skis and board. His English is not fluent but good and we had great feedback from our clients last season.
